I have a6mnth old pitbull mix that has been Vet cleared of any kind of fleas, mites, parasites, etc. Im convinced that the cause of Chevy's yeast production is food related. He is miserable from itching, licking his paws nonstop. I am vigilant about his antifungal baths4xwk also trying foot dips of A.C.Vinegar/water/bakingsoda. I have ruled out his need for gluten, poultry( but CANNOT find a dry food thats Low sugar starch POTATO/SWEET POT. FREE.. Please I am feeling defeated w/my search

There are some grain-free foods that utilize peas instead of sweet potatoes, so looking at some grain-free products in your local pet store may help you find a product that works if Chevy can't handle it. A food trial with your vet where you eliminate everything, and then slowly work back up to it can also help see if there is a particular food causing Chevy's skin problems. In a lot of cases, the allergy is to a protein source, and not a grain or carbohydrate, so trying out some novel proteins such as turkey, venison, duck, etc may also help if the issue is food-related.
