Why are my 7-year-old cats suddenly pooping outside the litter box?

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 years and 5 months old | 8 lbs

hi! I have two cats a boy and a girl and they are 7 years old when it is they have been pooping all over places in upstairs bathroom even though it's cleaned out. they've been doing this about 4 weeks now every single day multiple times if they have to go. I have no clue why they're doing that they never did it before , so suggestion, TY very much

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Most of the time this is due to a medical reason like intestinal parasites for example. Otherwise, it could be behavioral. You can start by changing the litter box material and adding at least one more litter box to see if that helps. If no improvement, I recommend you check in with your veterinarian.
