My dog's diarrhea won't stop after chicken & rice. What's next?

my dog had dirrhea on oct. 2 gave him chichen and rice since small 2 times a day he ad a verysmall bowel movement today when will he have a normal bowell movement and if he don should I give me an emema

Hello, I am sorry to hear about Lucky. Diarrhea can have many different causes in dogs. It can be secondary to problems within the GI tract such as dietary allergies, inflammation, parasites or ingestion of foreign material. It can also be due to systemic problems such as pancreatitis, liver disease, or kidney problems. Since the diarrhea has been going on for a long time and has not improved with a bland diet I would recommend having Lucky evaluated by your veterinarian. They can perform an examination and discuss additional diagnostic workup which could include bloodwork and x-rays. Hope this helps, good luck!

    Chicken and rice is just a bland easier to digest food. It may not resolve diarrhea alone. Make sure Ziggy isn't getting any other "snacks" while walking but if it is not resolved in 12-24 hours I recommend a vet visit to determine the cause of diarrhea and get the approriate treatment for him.
