My cat's black fur is turning white on her paws. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 1 year old | 2.75 lbs

My cat has bold spots on both her hands no irritation or red color I just went to the vet to give her treatment for worms and fleas at first the vet said that it's fine as long as she doesn't have them in a different spot but I just saw her other hand she has one but still no irritation or redness also the first one I think it's growing hair again... What maybe wrong? Update:my cat natural skin is white and her hair is black

Ok, so with that update it sounds like these white spots are new. It could be a natural change that is happening. There aren't any particular disease that come to mind for hair turning white. If it continues, I would recommend a biopsy of the area to see if there are any changes in the skin that can be identified. I'd also make sure she's on a quality diet (meaning a reputable commercial diet or well balanced with supplements homecooked diet). I agree with your vet that it's not concerning, but can't tell you why it's happening.
