My canary's molting too long, not singing, and won't bathe. Is he ill?

Ringo, Canary, is 2-1/2 yrs old - second Molt has now lasted approx. 11 - 12 wks. Still not Singing. He also has stopped bathing for at least 6 weeks. If I spray him, he will sometimes have a Bath, but, not on his own, as he used to do, every day or two. Is something wrong with him?? Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Male | unneutered

Thanks for reaching out about Ringo. If he is that quiet and molting for this long a period, it seems like he is sick. A veterinary visit is highly recommended. Bacterial or viral infections are possible, exposure to inhaled or ingesta toxins or metabolic problems should be considered. Providing supplemental heat (80-85 degrees) will help, but only a veterinary visit will assist in a diagnosis and treatment. Good luck.
