Flat spots on my dog's skin, no bumps. Is it an allergy or grooming?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Weimaraner | Female | unspayed | 5 months and 7 days old | 17 lbs

Hello I have been noticing these spots on my dog’s fur. I have examined and it’s just her skin, there are no bumps or lumps. Is this due to her needing grooming? An allergy? Should I be concerned? Please let me know.

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling becomes too large or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.
