Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 20 lbs
My dog is 8 years old and has never been vaccinated. He recently bit me on my forehead above my eyebrow and I believe my bite is infected. I believe this because there is a little pus coming out. I’m set out to see a doctor today. Although, my dog shows no signs of rabies but I know there still has to be precaution in order to heal my bite. What will happen to my dog?

I am sorry to hear about your bite. I would definitely seek medical care and report the bite. What will happen will depend on regulations in your state/city/county but in general, a dog that is owned as a pet that has bitten someone will require a 10 day quarantine period to ensure it does not display any signs of rabies. If the dog is healthy throughout the quarantine then at the end of the 10 days they are vaccinated and released from quarantine. The quarantine may be required to be at a vet hospital or animal control, depending on the regulations in your area. I would also recommend having Marly examined by a vet to discuss reasons he may have bitten you and solutions that may be available. Best of luck to you and Marly.
