Hi, my dog keeps scratching under his armpit and he is getting sores and scratches. I gave him an anti flee treat only a month ago. Why is he doing that?

First I would make sure that you have Chance in a good flea preventative that is effective in your area - ask your vet for recommendations. Even a single flea bite can cause itching and many over the counter medications are not that effective. If fleas are completely ruled out it’s possible that Chance has an allergy to something in his food or in the environment. I’d recommend having your vet examine his skin - it looks like he could have a skin infection secondary to the itching that might be making things worse.
