Can I give my dog with kidney disease potato, pumpkin, coconut treats?

Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 6 years and 7 months old | 12 lbs

My dog has Kidney problem ( High BUN, CREA, PHOSPHORUS) i minimized he's protein intake and more vegetables in his diet, can i include boiled potato, pumpkin and fresh coconut juice and its meat as his treat? Thank you in advance

Yes, all of those foods would be fine to add into his diet as tolerated by his Gastrointestinal system. It is important to note, however, that most homemade diets are not balanced with adequate vitamins and minerals so it is advisable to supplement with a well sourced canine vitamin . Another option would be to try a renal specific diet such as the ones from Royal Canin or Hills. If you want something handmade and human grade then I recommend he renal diets at Justfoodfordogs. It is also important to check renal enzymes and electrolytes every 3 months or so to monitor progression.
