Hi tony began taking appetite stimulant mirtazapine this morning. He is to take 1/8 every 48 hours. He had his first dose at 545am this morning and at 6am cleaned his food bowl like never before , even with his kidney food mixed in (which is the the reason my vet prescribed mirtazapine - he wasn’t liking his kidney diet). The appetite stimulant could not have worked that quickly right?? Thanks

Typically it takes a few doses to really work, but I would be hopefully that it has some play in why Tony was hungry. I would continue with the medication as prescribed. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
