My cat keeps licking her belly. Is it skin irritation or allergies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 27 days old | 4 lbs

Hello. My kitty, Aurora seems to have a skin irritation on her lower belly region. She kept licking her belly so I examined where she was licking amd saw this. My babies are everything to me and even the tiniest thing scares me. Aurora is a very anxious kitty and I believe she pees outside the Liter box due to this as well. Ever since she was small she's been so fragile. Please help, what can I do in the time being and what could this be?

Hi, it looks like it could be an eosinophilic granuloma complex. Basically a skin lesion that develops secondary to allergies. I would recommend to have her checked over to make sure it nothing triggered by parasites etc, you can find more information on EOG complex here but mind you the pictures are very dramatic !https://icatcare.org/advice/cat-health/eosinophilic-granuloma-complex Hope this helps !
