My cat has skin bumps, itching, and is hiding after a cat died.

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 lbs

Kitty #1 has bumps, minor itching. Is eating and drinking normal. Hiding which is not normal, since death of kitty #2 maybe 10 days ago. Kitty #3 shows no itching or issues. #1 and #3 sleep in same kennel/bedding. No sign of fleas or dirt.

I am sorry to hear about your kitten! I would be concerned we could have a bacterial dermatitis or allergies in this kitten. I would recommend bringing her in to a veterinarian for an examination. they may recommend oral medications if evidence of infection is found, or a medicated shampoo such as Duoxo Chlorhexidine. A fatty acid supplement (available at most pet stores, vet offices, and online) can also help decrease itching/inflammation of the skin. A flea preventative such as Comfortis is recommended even if no fleas are seen. It is possible this kitty could have flea bite hypersensitivity and just one or two bites can make them break out. In some cases these cats may need a short course of steroids to get the reaction under control. In other cases an antihistamine may be adequate.
