What should I do about a crusty, growing lump on my old dog's side?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 18 years and 7 months old | 50 lbs

This growth appeared on my 8 yr old Beagle mix about 2 months ago It has grown from a small bump to this nasty looking growth on his side. I've been watching it and can't tell if it's still growing. He doesn't lick it or act like it bothers him unless you mess with it. I have pics of it, but it looks like a crusty wart attached to a tube-like thing coming out of his side.

This growth needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take Boss to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.
