My dog's vulva is swollen and she's chewing it. What's wrong?

My dogs vagins is swollen. Its been a couple days. Looks like it was itchy and she chewed on it to scratch. I put an E Collar on her yesterday and have been cleaning it and using tripple antibiotic. And I'm thinking about using Preparation H around the outside edges for the swelling. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | spayed | 7 months and 25 days old | 45 lbs

Do not use Preparation H on her. Keep the e-collar in place and keep the area clean and dry. It looks like she is in heat. If she has been spayed already or if the swelling doesn't begin to subside on a few days then have her physically examined by your veterinarian. If she is intact, wait a few weeks after her heat has ended and consider having her spayed to prevent accidental or unwanted litters.
