Why is my puppy licking her private area and has a rash/growth?

Our 5 months old mix, Magnolia, has developed some spots like a rash in her pubic area over the last 7-10 days. She tends to clean herself quite a bit after a potty break so hubs chalked it up to her irritating the area. She doesn’t seem bothered by them at all. I noticed tonight there’s a small growth down there now, as well as an irritated patch of skin that’s quite red. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Magnolia. I recommend that she sees her veterinarian this week as she appears to have a superficial skin infection. It may be secondary to the licking you have described. You need to ensure that she does not have a urinary tract infection that is promoting the licking.
