Why is my dog trying to pee often but only a few drops come out?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | unspayed | 4 months and 1 day old | 60 lbs

Shadow is trying to urinate but she is only able to go just a few drops? This stared yesterday about 8 am she is trying about every 3 minutes. She pooped about 2 a.m. and she is eating and drinking well. What could this be? Could she of swallowed something?

Hi there and thanks for posting! if all else is normal otherwise and she is currently urinating only a few drops and does this frequently-this is a little suspicious of a urinary tract infection or other urinary issue such as bladder stones. I would recommend she visit with your veterinarian soon for an exam and urinalysis to rule out a urinary tract infection. If your veterinarian is suspicious of urinary stones, an x-ray may be taken as well. She may need to be on antibiotics or other medications as needed.
