Hi. Poor Mell. Unfortunately this can be common. There are 4 main reasons why cats urinate inappropriately.   A urinary tract infection, bladder or kidney stones, feline lower urinary tract disease (non-bacterial inflammatuon of the bladder), or behavioral reasons.  New stresses are a big culprit.  I would make an appointment to get him seen.  They will perform a full exam, a urinalysis, lab work, and a bladder xray.  In addition, make sure you have enough litter boxes. 1 per cat PLUS 1.  Make sure they  are cleaned daily,  and away from any loud or scary noises.  If her tests are all normal, you add the litter boxes, you decrease stress, and clean often, then we can say it is behavioral.  You can then work with your veterinarian on some behavioral medications and retraining techniques.  Good luck.
