Why does my dog have a red pimple-like bump under his armpit area?

My dog has a red pimple like bump on his side sort of under his right arm. He is a labradoodle what is this? Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Male | neutered | 2 years and 3 months old | 80 lbs

Are you able to attach a picture? If you attempted that, it did not upload for us to see. :( That would be helpful. Based on your description, it may be a focal area of bacterial infection in the skin called pyoderma, it could be an inflamed hair follicle, or it could be some other type of mass. If you resubmit with a picture, can you let us know if its bothering him? Is he scratching or licking at it, etc, and how long has it been there?
