My dog has black scabs on his hind legs. Could it be an allergy?

My dog is a cairn terrier and he 7 years old and the past few months he broke out in Black scabs on his stomach they're gone now and they have moved to his hind legs and buttocks area I'm not sure what it is he isn't losing his hair his coat is fine he doesn't have fleas I was thinking it could be an allergy but I'm not sure if you have any idea please help! Pet's info: Dog | Cairn Terrier | Male | neutered | 7 years and 3 months old

Without actually seeing the scabs it is hard to say what it is. I would recommend either uploading up to 3 pictures when submitting a question or taking Weegee to a veterinarian to have them evaluate his skin. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
