Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I’m sorry to hear Oakley’s not feeling well. My first concern is: is he fully vaccinated? (2-4 rounds of vaccines as a puppy, then once yearly thereafter). If not, please head to the nearest emergency vet IMMEDIATELY for a parvo test and proper treatment. This is a life-threatening disease and early diagnosis and treatment is key. If he is vaccinated, the next mot likely scenario is gastroenteritis (inflammation of the stomach and intestines). This is usually caused by a new food or treat, eating something naughty (trash, plants, etc). Just like in people, however, there are many reasons a dog might vomit and have diarrhea including eating something new/different, toxin, infection, organ disease, cancer, or other. Pick up the food and water and monitor. Reintroduce water 4 hours after the last vomiting episode and a small meal 12 hours after the last vomiting episode. If Oakley has vomited several times, it’s time to head to the ER clinic. The veterinarian will do a good physical exam and may recommend x-rays and/or bloodwork to help narrow down the cause of the vomiting. They can also treat the nausea and administer fluids for any dehydration that has occurred. Best wishes to you and Oakley!
