my puppy that is just 3 weeks old, started coughing and acting like she wants to throw up but nothing comes out. i’m very concerned, the cough isn’t constant but it scares me. what could i do to make it stop?

This sign might be compatible with kennel cough. This is usually a self limiting infection and in 1 to 2 weeks time will completely disappear without any treatment. However sometime an anti inflammatory medication and an antibiotic treatment is indicated. Your puppy should gradually improve but, given her young age, I recommend a check up at your veterinarian asap. In the meantime I suggest to use a harness instead of a collar to walk her outside to avoid pushing on the inflamed trachea and make her cough even more. Other, less likely, differential diagnosis for cough might include: other respiratory infections (viral, bacterial, parasitic, fungal), inflammatory diseases, pulmonary edema, toxic inhalation.
