Help! My bunny's eyes are red and look abnormal. What should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 3 lbs

My bunny's eyes are turning red. He will be turning two in three days. I am quite worry about his eyes. On camera it's hard to see the redness. But if you look closely in the picture, You would see a small pupil which is not normal and then a different shade around the pupil. That's where the rednesses are. Please help!!!

Your bunny may have an eye infection, allergic conjunctivitis, or a corneal ulcer (a scratch on the surface of the eye). There does not appear to be any discharge present to that is a good thing. I would recommend taking your bunny to the vet to be checked out. This way the exact cause of the eye irritation can be determined and treated appropriately. I hope this helps.
