I have a female Shih Tzu 6 years old that is having a hard time going poop and her tummy is a little hard what can I give her to help her. Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Female | spayed | 7 years and 5 months old | 12 lbs

Hi there and thanks for your post! You can try giving her a couple tablespoons of plain canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) twice daily with her regular meals. Canned pumpkin is a great natural source of fiber that can help soften stools. If that doesnt help, I would reccommend a veterinary visit to make sure there are no underlying medical causes for the constipation. I hope this helps!
