Why does my cat poop under the bed but pee in his litter box?

help! my cat wont poop in his litter, he pees there (sometimes), but poops under my bed. i changed the position of his litter and food from my room to the hallway because of the smell but he’s been going perfectly until recently. i clean out his litter regularly and i havent changed the brand and no different foods or any other change except location of the litter. Pet's info: Cat | Turkish Angora | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 13 days old

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This is super frustrating! Often this is a result of some change or anxiety. Did your schedule or some part of the routine change? Sometimes there is some pain or some reason the litter box is uncomfortable. I’d recommend trying a second litter box under the bed where he likes to poop. You can also try confining him to a smaller area like a bathroom until he uses the litter box a bit better. Best of luck to you and Jimmy Choi!
