My new puppy has white worms in his poop. Is this normal? Can I treat it OTC?

Pet's info: Dog | Basset Hound | Male | 2 months and 2 days old | 7 lbs

Hello! I just got a basset hound puppy 2 days ago from a Breeder. The first day he was fine but last night I noticed he had little white worms in his stool. I haven’t had a puppy in a while but my breeder said it was normal? Is there something over the counter I can get for him? I work weird hours so he would have to wait a few days to see a vet and I feel so bad for him and want to get it resolved before then. Thank you! -Shelbi.

Little white worms should not be in your puppy's stool and it appears that the breeder did not do his job worming the puppies, All puppies have worms, but this should be treated, You can buy a puppy wormer over the counter in a petshop (make suree it specifies "puppy wormer" and it is the right one for your puppy's weight. Give this to your puppy and again 2-3 weeks later. Make sure you take your puppy to a vet soon for a puppy exam and first vaccinations.
