How to stimulate orphaned kittens to pee and poop? What's normal?

I am taking care of 4 orphaned kittens about 2-3 weeks old I try to help them eliminate by messaging along their opening I tried it once but they don't seem to get out any thing is this normal and when should I do this anyway

You should be massaging their anus and urinary office after every feeding to get them to urinate and defecate. Use a cotton ball or Kleenex moistened with warm water to do this. They may not passes feces or urine after every mean, but if there are multiple feeds where they aren't passing anything, I would take the kittens into a vet immediately to get help doing this. Once they are three weeks old, they should pass feces and urine without help.
