Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Male | neutered | 3 years and 6 months old | 12 lbs
Hi my cat (4yr, male, neutered) has recently started peeing on the carpet this past week. It's started to have a stronger musky smell and today started having dark orange, clear urine. When he uses the litter box nothing is actually left behind. I did introduce a new type of litter last week, mixed it in the old litter. Today I reintroduced the old brand. He was excited about it but failed to discard urine when he tried to use the bathroom. Any ideas?

Any change in elimination behavior, especially when coupled with a change n odor and color of the urine, could indicate a urinary tract infection. I recommend getting Link seen by your vet as soon as possible for an exam and urinalysis. Dark orange could mean the urine is highly concentrated or there could be blood present.
