My dog found a dead mouse. Is it dangerous if she ate a poisoned one?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 9 months and 29 days old | 62 lbs

We moved into a home with mice so we put out poison the kind that comes in the box were kids and animals can't get to it but my oldest pup just had a dead mouse I don't know if she ate it or not will this hurt her

It is possible for a pet to suffer 'secondary poisoning' if it ingests a rodent that ate rodenticide. It is important to know what type of rodenticide was used/ingested. Some are more toxic than others. If your pup the a dead mouse, have her seen by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER. Either clinic can induce vomiting via injection to get the carcass out. This should be done as soon as possible. Bloodwork may be necessary to monitor bleeding times and other values to make sure she did not absorb the rodenticide.
