Some kitties are easily stressed and start licking and grooming excessively. This could be caused by having visitors, having a fight with a fellow room mate, an outside cat provoking her through a window, moving furniture, changing food, anything, really. Get some Feliway from your veterinarian and plug it in in the area where she spends most of her time. This is a pheromone that makes cats happy, and reduces stress. If the lesion is clean and not infected, then just leave it alone. If she keeps licking it, you will have to put an e-collar on her to prevent her from further aggravating the lesion. You will possibly have to use Feliway for a few months.
