Is anesthesia safe for my dog's surgery if she has seizures?

Is it safe for my Boxer to be put under anesthesia for surgery if she has had two seizures in the past 8 months?

It would be helpful to know your dogs age, the cause of her seizures, and the reason she is being put under anesthesia. Dog's with seizures can be put under anesthesia, especially if the benefit of the procedure outweighs any risks of anesthesia. There are certain drugs that should be avoided in dogs with a history of seizures so your vet will avoid anything that lower the seizure threshold. Your vet should also run pre-anesthetic bloodwork to check for any abnormalities that would increase the risk of anesthesia.
