Why does my dog keep peeing in my bed at night, and how can I stop it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Male | neutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 12 lbs

So since I have got jack (about 2 months) I have been sleeping on the couch because every time we sleep in my bed he manages to pee in it. Do you know why that is and how I can make it stop? We go out right before bed and he knows where to go on his potty pad in the house so I just don’t understand why he pees on the bed. Let me know what you think. Thank you as always

If this is the only time he does it then it is a behavior problem. The easiest way to correct this is keep him in a kennel at night. You sleep in the bed and let him sleep next to in a kennel. Once he goes months without having an accident in his kennel through the night, then you can try him in the bed again. You have to back up and treat him like a new puppy who is not house trained to correct this
