My dog's ear smells bad, head tilts, scratches. Is it an infection?

My dog is germnan shepard cross breed. He is having some problem in his left ear that he is tilting his head often. Always hitting his ear with his leg. He is very ferrocious to vet doctors. How can we cure him. And his ear smells really bad.

I would definitely be suspicious of an ear infection from what you are describing. Ear infections usually have a primary cause that allows it to be infected. Common primary causes are allergies, excessive moisture, or something stuck down in the ear. Given the severity of this infection, it's best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian, so they can have a good look in the ear and provide the necessary medication to clear this up. Considering he is aggressive to vets, the vet will likely want to give her some sedation in order to have a good look in the ear and treat it appropriately. This may be difficult for you and him, but it's the best option for an ear infection this severe. Unfortunately, it's not likely that you'll be able to cure this at home, but it will be good to gently flush the ear once every day to help remove the debris from the ear - this will help with treating the infection.
