Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Male | 1 year old | 7 lbs
My dog has recently had nausea meds, anti-nausea meds, his stomach was coated in charcoal and he had IV treatment. All on Thursday bc he ate a bottle of allergy meds. And Ive been feeding him rice with chicken but he only eats the chicken but hes drinking water as well. And now his diherra is a reddish brown color. Is this normal?

Hello, and thank you for your question. The reddish-brown diarrhea concerns me for possible bleeding in the intestines. I would recommend taking him back to the vet within the next 12 hours if this continues. They can check for anemia, and test for any blood in the stool. If so, he may require further medications such as a gastroprotectant and antacid, as well as medication to help treat the diarrhea itself. In the meantime, continue with your bland diet in small, frequent meals, and water. If his energy or appetite seem to be worsening, I would get him back to the vet sooner rather than later. I hope this helps, and that Jax feels better soon.
