Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 8 days old
Hi, what vaccinations do my 2 month old kitty need. And how often? I need to have her spayed? Cost? And possibly front claws declawed? Cost?

Hello. An 8-week old kitten is old enough to receive the first in a series of 3 feline respiratory disease vaccinations. The next two vaccinations are done 4 and 8 weeks after the first. On the second set of vaccinations, I will also give the first Feline Leukemia vaccination. On the third & final set of vaccinations, I will give the last Feline distemper & Feline leukemia vaccines, & also administer the first rabies vaccination. Saki should be checked for intestinal worms at his first visit, & some veterinarians will also recommend testing for Feline Leukemia before any vaccinations are administered. I do not require this. Consider spaying anytime after 4 months of age, but before 6 months. If you can avoid declawing her, please do so because this is a very painful procedure & may affect her personality as she gets older. There are alternatives, such as nail trims & using Soft Paws on the nails. Costs are variable from vet to vet, & the area you live. Do call around to get an idea of costs. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
