What are these small black tick-like bumps on my dog's skin?

My mixed breed rescue dog has a couple of small black zit things which resemble in appearance ticks. They are not ticks, I have made sure of this. They do not hurt him when i touch them. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 30 lbs

It is hard to give any advice without actually seeing what you are referring to.
