What is this smooth lump on my dog's gums? Is it serious?

Hello, my 2 year old corgi has a lump on his gums. It is smooth in texture and about the size of a tylenol capsule.

One of the most common masses that we see in the mouth is something called an epulis. An epulis is considered a benign mass, but some types will invade the surrounding bone if not removed.
