My puppy has dry paws. Is coconut oil safe? What are alternatives?

Hello, Our puppy's paw "pillows" are quite rough and dry. (it's snowy and cold, around -2C°) I have been reading that pure coconut oil is really good for them. Is it okay to use and how often? Or is there any other good alternatives? Thanks.

There are a number of good commercial products that can be applied to the paw pads to help protect them from getting too dry and cracked. I'm unsure which products are available in Finland, but I have had good luck with Musher's Secret in the snow and winter. http://www.musherssecret.net/ I have tried coconut oil on my dogs' paws, but it is more greasy and it made them lick their paws, so I have had better luck with a commercial product that does not smell quite as tasty! But it is fine to try and can be used daily if needed. Good luck! I hope that was helpful. Thanks for using PetCoach.
