I have a 9 week old puppy who bites/nips incredibly hard. He will also sometimes lung at mine of others faces. He is my first puppy to have and I know these bites are just out of play. What can I do to encourage softer play bites?

It is really bimportant to discourage this behaviour, what is play now can become a serious issue. As soon as he nips say no firmly but without shouting and put Charlie on the floor. Ignore him for a minute or so then repeat this until he realises that biting causes him to miss out on play time. Don't tease him with your hands.
