My dog removed his cone, now neuter stitches are gone. Vet needed?

My pet was neutered 4 days ago and he did not like the cone I feel like his stitches dissolved what should I do? Should I take him back to the vet or let it heal on it’s own? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 36 lbs

Without seeing the wound it is impossible to advise but i would be concerned if he removed the cone he may have chewed the stitches leaving it open to infection. Most wounds if less than half inch wide will heal if infection is avoided but i would recommend a post surgery recheck to be sure
