Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | 16 years old | 70 lbs

I have a 15 year old begal mixed with Jack Russell and she has been throwing up this clear fluid that has white bubbles on the top it's about a palm size amount each time it sounds like she's dry heaving I try and give her water she won't take it, is she dying? It's happened about 16 times the past 7 hours

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This does not necessarily mean that she is dying. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Lacy evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid she is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check her hydration status and give her medications to make her feel better. Good luck!
