Why is my dog so itchy with no visible cause, even after baths?

she always and all the time scratches her skin but when i check her body i don't find anything and i give her a bath three times in a week so why ? Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Female | 2 years and 5 months old | 5 lbs

You may be bathing her too much. Too much bathing using an inappropriate shampoo can cause drying of the skin making it itchy. If you are not finding anything on her like fleas, then she is likely itching due to an underlying allergy. Could be food related. Could be something in the environment that she is allergic to.
