My cat has flea dirt. When can I bathe him after spot-on treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 9 months and 12 days old | 8.3 lbs

How long do you have to wait after applying Advocate spot-on treatment to bathe a cat? He still has flea dirt on him.

Wait at least 24 hours. However, it is ideal to bath Toby before you apply the treatment so you don't wash off your product. Unless you are using a detergent free shampoo, it will wash away your flea product. Please post again if you have any further questions.
