My cat has eye mucus. Is it serious? What to do if no vet is near?

Hi! My baby cat have mucus in her eye. I clean it with a wet clothe whenever I see it. Is this a serious problem cuz I'm very cautious about my baby cat. There's no vet in my area. Please help me

Mucous in the eye can be normal, but if it is a yellowish-greenish color or an excessive amount of it, then yes it is a concern. That would mean it was an eye infection. Should she have this excessive discharge or a discharge that is yellowish-greenish, then she will need an antibiotic ointment. I would call vets surrounding your area to find out where you can get her seen to get this antibiotic ointment, or check to see if there are any cat rescue organizations in your area who can help you.
