Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 7 months and 2 days old | 5 lbs
I have an about 9 month old male kitten, and I have few questions about his food situation. I have been letting him have dry food when ever he wants, and then giving him 2 cans of wet food, once in the morning and once in the evening. is this ok?

This is fine for right now. If he starts to gain too much weight I would cut back to one can a day. Sometimes cats do very well with having free access to dry food while others need actual meals so people can regulate how much they are eating. I would make sure he doesn't start gaining too much weight. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

That is absolutely fine. What I do with my cat is leave a bowl of dry kibble out all the time so she can nibble as she wants and feed her wet food as her 'meals'. She's very active and is small and thin so this works for her. If your cat is quieter in personality you may need to eventually measure his food intake to prevent excessive weight gain, but as a young kitten I doubt that will be a problem anytime soon. Have fun and enjoy your kitten!
