My Pomeranian ate a mouse. Is it safe? What are the risks?

Hi my pomeranian just ate a whole mouse that my cat left. Is this Ok? Thanks. Pet's info: Dog | Pomeranian | Male | unneutered | 4 months old | 6.17 lbs

If there is any chance that the mouse was poisoned then I would seek help right away. Otherwise there is probably little other risk. It is possible that it could cause some gastrointestinal problems such as vomiting or diarrhea, but there is nothing you can do to really prevent that. Also- if the mouse had fleas then then he could potentially get tapeworm. If it just now happened then you could take to your veterinarian to have them induce vomiting, but I would probably only do that if you were concerned about the mouse being poisoned.
