My cat doesn't drink enough water. How can I get him to drink more?

My cat doesn’t drink water often how do I get him to drink more? I tried adding water to wet cat food will that help?

Typically when they eat canned food they do not drink a lot of water due to the increased moisture already in the food. Some cats tend to drink more out of a faucet that is left as a slow drip or by getting a recirculating water dish for them.

    Cats aren't big water drinkers, and Shadow may be drinking water at night while you are sleeping. You can measure out water one morning, then remeasure it the next morning. That will tell if you he is drinking water or not.

    Yes, it is because cats tend to get their moisture from their food. Simetimes we need to encourage their drinking habits by using water fountains or addung water to their food . However, if they are on a wet food diet and in absence of any medical conditions , they should not need water supplementation.
