Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 8 years and 6 months old | 180 lbs
My german sheperd had yellow puss on his skin a few days ago that originally had contributed to getting something on his coat and did not realize what it was. Now it has turned into a large red rash on his skin and the hair is gone. From what I have ready online I would assume it to be pyoderma, but I know I am no doctor. I don't have the money to spend a lot a the vet, but want to make sure my dog is taken care of and this goes away. Can you help?

It does sound like your dog may have a pyoderma. You could bathe him with an anti-bacterial medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. He should also be examined by a vet as he probably needs an oral antibiotic to treat the infection. He might also need an anti-histamine and/or a corticosteroid to help control any allergies. Make sure to use a flea and tick medication, like NexGard, Frontline, Bravecto, etc. to prevent fleas and ticks.
