My dog has a bump on his penis. Is it common or should I be concerned?

My dog appears to have a pimple on his penis (the inside part) I noticed when he was sitting and it was protruded from the sheath. Is this common? He doesn't seem bothered by it. Pet's info: Dog | Shiloh Shepherd | Male | neutered | 83 lbs

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. This is something that I I have seen multiple times and rarely does it cause a problem. Sometimes after urinating the urine can become trapped in the sheath of the penis. This trapped moisture can lead to irritation and a mild infection which usually resolves on its own. I would just monitor this for any signs of worsening and if it starts to spread I would have your veterinarian take a look at this.
