Why is my dog's face swollen? Is it a tooth problem or infection?

This swelling is from an upper molar tooth root abscess. I recommend a veterinary exam and to start antibiotics. Dogs who chew bones sometimes break their teeth exposing the root and these get infected. The antibioitcs improve the infection, swelling and pain, but usually to cure this the infected tooth will need to be extracted.     Hello. If you are referring to the dog with the white hair....that facial swelling is common with a tooth root abscess. Your pet should have an oral exam. Commonly, the face will swell like that when the largest upper pre-molar has an abscesses root. If that is the case, it likely needs to be extracted and antibiotics administered.
