My dog's epilepsy medicine isn't helping. Should we switch to Keppra?

Hi! My dog's name is Milo. He's a Griffon; 3 years old. He began to experience seizures in the past 2 years. I had him examined and vet concluded he is epileptic. The vet prescribed Sodium valproate, but Milo kept having seizures every two to three weeks. I read an article about Keppra; would that medication help him rather than Sodium valproate which seems to be ineffective? Thanks

Keppra is used to treat seizures so you could talk to your vet about trying it or a different anti-seizure medication. You could also have your dog evaluated by a neurologist if your vet is not able to get his seizures under control. A neurologist may be able to find the best medication and/or combination of medications to help your dog.
